Horses have been the greatest love in my life since I was 5. I grew up in the equestrian industry and understand first hand the blood, sweat, tears, and unconditional love and bond with one’s horse, and that upbringing is what shaped me into the woman and photographer I am today. As soon as I could hold a camera, I was constantly taking photos of my horses and my friends with theirs. My desire to capture the bond between individuals and their beloved equine partners was the true catalyst that started my love of photography. The memories and connections we have with these incredible partners are some of the most important in our lives, and it is one of my greatest joys to be able to capture my clients special relationships with their horses to keep memorialized forever.
Every session comes with a complimentary and optional fashion consult. This will get scheduled about a month before your session. You will come to our studio with a suitcase of some of your favorite clothing you are thinking of wearing for your photos, and then you'll be able to shop our client closet. We will have a fashion show, eat some snacks, and finalize all your outfits so on the day of your shoot, you know exactly what you'll be wearing and what you'll need to bring! If an in person consult is not possible or you'd prefer to opt out, I am happy to setup a phone consultation to help you plan your outfits.

The big day is here, and we are going to capture that incredible bond between you and your equine partner! There's no need to be nervous, I got your back! I promise to make you feel comfortable, confident, and beautiful in front of the camera! You'll never need to ask, "What do I do with my hands?!" because I will be posing & guiding you throughout the entire process! You can expect me to be your biggest hype girl when you nail the shot and it's guaranteed I'll make you laugh at least a few times! We'll triple check your wardrobe and make sure it gets steamed so it's picture - perfect, glam you with hair & makeup if included in your package, and spend the afternoon location hopping and capturing you and your horse!

We know how exciting it is to see sneak peeks, so we promise to send you a few of our favorites within 48 hours of your session! The remaining images will get delivered in a beautiful online gallery within 2-4 weeks where you can easily download & share them. All packages come with digital images. Print packages can be added on to any collection. There is also a print store included in your online album where you can purchase prints and products on your own, or you can set up a complimentary Zoom where I can help you choose which products are best for you! Get ready for all the social media content!

Having Emily capture my senior photos and many pictures with my horse, was the best decision I ever made. Not only did she make me feel comfortable in my own skin, but she taught me how to love myself more. She has a huge wardrobe for you to mess around with, mad makeup skills, and a lot of flexibility! All of my hopes for my shoot were met and even more than I was expecting! I really wanted a natural, fall look and that's exactly what I got. Plus, she loves horses! You gotta have someone that knows horses in order to capture them! The best thing about it all, is that Emily is solely doing this for you! let me give you the 411
TIME FOR THE
I’M READY TO BOOK! HOW DO I MAKE THINGS OFFICIALLY OFFICIAL?
In order to reserve a date, 50% of your collection price is due up front as a retainer along with a signed contract. The remaining 50% + any relevant travel fees are due four weeks before your session date. All paperwork and payments can be done online for your convenience. To begin the process, just email Emily with your availability (hello@emilyfinger.com)!
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO PREP MY HORSES BEFORE THE SHOOT?
While I can remove an unwanted scratch or two from a surprise turnout wound in photoshop, I can't completely clean your horse. Thus, a good grooming, bath, and clipping is recommended before your shoot. This must be done before your session starts as the time allotted for your session is based upon golden hour, and the more time taken away at the start for grooming, the less time we have for photos. Tack also needs to be cleaned as any dirt will show up in your images. Please also keep a rag on hand for wiping/bit cleaning throughout the session, as well as some mint wrappers for crinkling! Having a friend or parent come to help assist and get ears up is always a bonus!
HOW LONG SHOULD I EXPECT MY EXPERIENCE TO LAST?
Your experience will include a minimum of 2 hours of shooting. If you choose to have professional hair and makeup and purchase a larger collection with more time and photos, you can look forward to a 4 -6 hour day.
HOW LONG AFTER MY SESSION WILL I RECEIVE MY PHOTOS?
You will receive a high resolution social media sneak peek within 48 hours of your portrait session, and you can expect to receive your full gallery of images within 2-4 weeks of your session!
CAN I BRING SOMEONE (OR MY PETS) WITH ME?
Of course! Your session includes photos with whoever is important to you! This can be your boyfriend/girlfriend, best friend, parent, sibling, or even a pet (dogs are always encouraged!!)
ARE HAIR AND MAKEUP INCLUDED IN THE PORTRAIT COLLECTIONS?
Yes! Hair & Makeup is included in 2 of our 3 packages! In my decade of photographing portraits, I highly recommend having your hair and makeup professionally done. It makes a huge difference in your experience and how your photos turn out! However, if you would prefer to do it yourself, we are happy to offer that option!
HOW DO WE CHOOSE LOCATIONS/ WHAT IF MY BARN ISN'T PRETTY?
Upon booking, we will have an in-depth call so I can learn more about you and your vision for your portrait session. I am a wizard at making any location look beautiful - so I have no doubt I will find spots at your barn to capture beautiful photos! If you'd prefer to trailer to a different spot we can do that as well.
