Last year in Florida, Maggie and Sammy asked me to do a couples portrait session with them and their incredible dog, so I traveled to Davis Island near Tampa to meet them. I wasn’t feeling my best, and neither was their sweet, elderly pup—but something told all of us not to put the session off. We managed to pull off a very special photoshoot just in time. The next day, their beloved dog passed away, leaving us all heartbroken—but also deeply grateful that we had captured those precious moments. The photos, now hanging in their home, are a beautiful reminder of why it’s so important to make time for memories with the ones we love—especially when time feels short.
On the day of Maggie and Sammy’s Couples Portrait Session
It was the very first time Maggie and Sammy had their photos taken together, which made the moment even more meaningful. I did Maggie’s makeup that day, wanting everything to feel just a little extra special—like a celebration of love, family, and the bond they all shared. I couldn’t be more honored that they trusted me to capture that connection for them.
